I had the chance to review Winger’s restaurant last night.  If you haven’t noticed, Winger’s has been slowly transitioning their restaurants into roadhouse’s, but don’t fret- their amazing wings and sauces are still on the menu!  They were actually named the best wings in America (see the review here)
 After talking with our cute little server about what the difference is now it basically came down to
the changes in some new menu items being offered, and more of the food is made from scratch rather than pre-made. (hand breaded chicken, waffle batter etc)

One of their new items on the menu is Chicken & Waffles.  Plus, every time you order the chicken and waffles Winger’s makes a donation to Breast Cancer Awareness.  Since this was a new change I wanted to be sure to order it for the review….. let me be totally honest, I was nervous! Waffles are great, chicken is great, but together??? I wasn’t so sure.  Conclusion: the waffles were great, the chicken was awesome!-very tender and juicy.  I tried them together with syrup and it kinda tasted like a chicken sandwich (but not enough flavor for me)  I couldn’t make up my mind if I liked it or not.  Then our server suggested trying the chicken with their “Amazing Sauce”.  DING! DING! we have a winner! 

So I found that eating the waffle separate, and dipping the chicken in the “Amazing Sauce” was awesome!  And while I’m talking about this sauce let me just say it truly lives up to it’s name!  I was going dip happy with everything in it! Onion rings, chicken, fries, everything dipped into it was made even more amazing!

We got the appetizer sampler and the server was kind enough to substitute the wings for onion rings.  One of the coolest things about going to Wingers is you get fresh popcorn while you wait for your food.  And the wait isn’t that long to begin with!  They were pretty busy last night and we still didn’t wait long for our food.
