Resident Evil Series

I recently introduced my hubby to the Resident Evil series.  So far we’ve watched the first and second ones, hopefully we’ll get the third one from netflix at the first of next week, then that leaves the fourth one in theatres for date night!

Normally I’m not a big kill em-zombie-violence type of movie watcher (I prefer comedy/romance/drama) but my ex husband got me watching them and there are a few movies that just grew on me.  Resident evil is one of them.  So far Scott (my hubby) likes them.  And they are perfect to watch this time of year with Halloween and all.

As far as a movie review-
The first one is about a underground facility called “the hive” where biological weapons are made.  One of the viruses gets lose and the main computer that runs the hive kills everyone to prevent the virus from escaping.  So basically the movie is about a group of people that go inside to find out what happened, and then try to make it out alive!
The second one is about the city above the hive- the virus made it out and is now spreading through the city and while the umbrella corporation that is responsible isolates the city, there is a group of people again trying to get out of the city alive.

Of the two, the second one is a lot better in my opinion.  Each one so far has had 2 kick-butt women leads, with a strong male second lead.  They are both rated R, the first one mainly for violence and use of the F word.  The second one has 2 scenes of brief nudity as well which I forgot about until we watched it the other day, the nudity in one scene is 2 topless women zombies, and the second scene is a medical one where they have a woman in a water tank thing (kinda like star wars episode 5 they had Luke in).

Hoping the 3rd and 4th ones are as good (with hopefully no more nudity).
