Homeschool in the News: Laws, Funding & Programs Across the USA, August Week 2, 2026
August 8, 2026You know the ones.
The videos where everything works perfectly
- Quick
- Easy
- Effortless
“Just do this…”
“And it works every time!”
So naturally…
You think to yourself
“I can do that!”
You try it.
And then…
It doesn’t work 😅
Not even a little bit
It’s not as easy as it looks in the video
And you start to suspect it was AI or edited (not real)
Homeschooling can feel like that too
- You see the perfect projects
- The smooth lessons
- The “this worked amazing for us!” posts
And you think…
“That looks easy enough”
But real life?
It’s messier
Things don’t always go as planned
- Projects flop
- Lessons fall flat
- Kids aren’t impressed
- Things take longer than expected
- Supplies cost a lot or are hard to find
And honestly?
That’s part of it
Why do we love “fail” videos so much?
Because they’re relatable
Because we’ve all been there
And those moments?
They’re not wasted
Your kids are learning (along with you sometimes)
- Problem-solving
- Adjusting
- Laughing and trying again
- Reality vs editing
Sometimes those “fails”…
Are the most memorable moments
Final Thought
Don’t expect perfection from your homeschool…
Expect real life
And maybe a few good laughs along the way 😅
