Educational Worksheet Designer Opportunity
February 21, 2026
They thought they were just planting squash…
March 23, 2026Homeschooling can be one of the most rewarding decisions a family makes, but if we’re being honest, it can also feel overwhelming at times.
Questions start to pile up quickly:
- Am I doing enough?
- What curriculum should I choose?
- How do I create a schedule?
- What about socialization?
- Can I really do this?
- How do I pay for homeschooling?
If you’ve ever had thoughts like these, you’re not alone. Almost every homeschooling parent I’ve met has wrestled with those same questions at some point in their journey.
And that’s exactly why I wrote my newest book:
You Can Do This: A Practical Guide to Homeschooling with Confidence
Why I Wrote This Book
After raising children in both public school and homeschool settings, I’ve had the opportunity to see education from multiple perspectives. I’ve watched students thrive when their learning environment fits them—and I’ve also seen the challenges that come when education tries to force every child into the same mold.
Our family’s journey has included everything from traditional schooling to hands-on learning, advanced academic opportunities, and trade programs. Along the way, one truth became very clear:
Education works best when it fits the child, the family, and the life they’re building together.
But many parents never hear that message when they first begin homeschooling. Instead, they often feel pressure to “get everything right” from the very beginning.
This book was written to remind parents that homeschooling doesn’t require perfection—it requires intention, flexibility, and the willingness to grow alongside your children.
What You’ll Find Inside
In You Can Do This, I share practical guidance and encouragement to help families move from uncertainty to confidence in their homeschool journey.
Inside the book, we explore topics like:
-
Getting started with homeschooling without feeling overwhelmed
- Different types (and schedule examples) of homeschooling
-
Choosing curriculum with confidence
-
Creating a schedule that works for your family
-
Supporting children with different learning styles and strengths
-
Focusing on meaningful growth instead of perfection
- And even resources to help pay for the costs of homeschooling
Most importantly, this book helps parents realize that there is no single “correct” homeschool model.
Your homeschool can be unique—just like your family.
Homeschooling Should Fit Your Family
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned over the years is that homeschooling doesn’t have to look the same for everyone.
Some families thrive with structured lesson plans.
Others prefer hands-on projects and real-world learning.
Some students pursue advanced academics early, while others find their strengths in trades, creative work, or entrepreneurship.
All of those paths can lead to success.
What matters most is creating an environment where children can grow, explore, and develop their gifts.
A Message for Parents Who Feel Unsure
If you’re standing at the beginning of your homeschool journey, or if you’ve been homeschooling for a while but still wonder if you’re doing it “right” I want you to hear this clearly:
You are not behind.
You are not failing.
You are building something meaningful for your family.
And you don’t have to do it alone.
