When I was little, I had bright red hair and very naturally curly hair.

So naturally…

Everyone said I looked like Annie.

And not just a little bit, I leaned all the way into it.

I even won an Annie look-alike contest when I was 4…
and had a toy poodle named Sandy to complete the look.

More Than Just a Movie

Growing up, I loved everything about Annie.

The songs.
The story.
The feeling that no matter how hard things got… there was always hope.

And one song always stuck with me:

“The sun will come out… tomorrow.”

Why That Still Matters Today

That message hits differently as a mom.

Because let’s be honest…

Not every homeschool day looks like we hoped it would.

Some days feel like:

• nothing got done
• everyone’s frustrated
• and you’re wondering if you’re doing any of it right

Some Days You’re Annie…

There are days where everything feels hopeful.

The kids are engaged.
The lessons click.
You feel like, “Okay… I’ve got this.”

Those are the Annie days.

…And Some Days You’re Miss Hannigan

Let’s be real.

Some days you’re tired.
Overwhelmed.
Out of patience.

You’ve reheated your coffee (or in my case hot cocoa) three times, someone’s crying, and you’re just trying to make it to the end of the day.

Secretly wishing you could just get away.

Those are the Miss Hannigan days.

And if you’ve had one…

You’re not alone.

And Then There’s Social Media…

Where it looks like everyone else has:

• the perfect house
• the perfectly behaved kids
• the perfectly planned lessons
• and the perfectly happy smiles

But let’s be real for a second…

That’s not real life.

Not yours.
Not mine.
Not anyone’s.

(And honestly… for all we know, some of it could be AI anyway.)

The Comparison Trap

One of the quickest ways to feel discouraged is to compare:

👉 someone else’s highlight reel

Don’t do that to yourself.

The Truth About Homeschooling

Homeschooling isn’t perfect.

It’s messy.
It’s unpredictable.
It’s full of trial and error.

But it’s also:

• meaningful
• flexible
• and full of opportunities to try again

Because Tomorrow Is Built In

That’s the beauty of it.

You don’t get one shot at a “perfect” school day.

You get another chance tomorrow.

A fresh start.
A reset.
A new opportunity to show up again.

Final Thought

So if today didn’t go the way you planned…

Take a breath.

Let it go.

Because the Sun Will Come Out, Tomorrow
