New school year planning is in full swing…

• Curriculum lists
• Schedules
• Decisions
• All the things

And let’s be honest…

It can feel overwhelming (and expensive)

Which is where temptation can sneak in

• “Can you just send me that PDF?”
• “I’ll share this with you if you share that with me”
• “It’s just one file…”

But here’s the thing

That’s still pirating.

And not the fun, eye-patch kind 😅

Behind every curriculum…

Is someone who:

• spent hours (and hours) creating it
• sacrificed time with their own family
• built it to support their household

Imagine this for a second

You create something from scratch.

You pour your time, energy, and heart into it.

Then one person buys it…

And shares it with 10 others for free.

Now your work is everywhere

But your ability to support your family from it?

Gone.

That’s why this matters

Not just legally…

But as an example for our kids

Because they’re always watching:

• how we treat other people’s work
• how we handle honesty
• how we justify “small” choices

And We Get It

There have been many times we’ve happily donated our curriculum:

• to non-profits
• to families in special situations
• to causes we believe in

But that’s a choice

Sharing without permission?

That’s taking something that wasn’t yours to give.

Final Thought

Teach your kids to value honesty…

Even when no one’s watching
