Homeschool in the News: Laws, Funding & Programs Across the USA, October Week 2, 2026
October 10, 2026You ever start your homeschool day like this:
“We’re just going to do something simple today…”
And then somehow…
🦁 You’re inside the lion’s mouth
Not literally (usually 😅)
But you know the feeling:
- The lesson that should take 20 minutes takes 2 hours
- One kid is frustrated
- One kid is distracted
- One kid is suddenly starving like they haven’t eaten in days
- Or maybe you end up going down a rabbit hole
And you’re sitting there thinking:
“How did we get here?” 😅
Because it didn’t start this way.
It started calm.
Manageable.
Even… organized.
And then it escalated
Fast.
Here’s the part no one tells you:
That doesn’t mean the day is ruined.
It just means…
You need to stop feeding the lion
- Pause the lesson
- Switch gears
- Go outside
- Call it a “life skills day” and move on 😅
Because sometimes the win isn’t finishing everything
It’s surviving the chaos with your sanity intact
(and maybe laughing about it later)
