Being Hateful Is Not Helpful
November 2, 2026Seven of us sat down with a Universal Yums Germany box and rated every single snack out of 10. Some were “Wow, lecker!” and some were definitely “Das ist schrecklich!”
Snack boxes have become one of our favorite ways to explore another country with our kids. You get geography, a little language, and a lot of laughing, all in one afternoon.
Our Top 3 German Snacks
- Efrutti Apple Gummies (60/70)
- Schulte Black Currant Wafer Rolls (59/70)
- Pom Sticks Sour Cream (58/70)
And the lowest score? Two snacks tied for last place. Watch the video to see which ones!
Want to try a box with your own family? Universal Yums sends a new country every month.
This is our referral link. If you sign up through it, we may get a small credit toward our next box. Thank you for supporting our family!
Turn a Snack Box Into a Geography Lesson
- Find Germany on a map before you open the box, and talk about the countries around it.
- Learn a few German words together, like “lecker” (tasty), “danke” (thank you) and “bitte” (please).
- Let each child rate every snack out of 10 and add up the scores. That is a sneaky math lesson.
- Look up where one of the snacks is made and what that city is known for.
- Pick the next country together and keep a “world tour” scorecard on the fridge.
Which country should we try next? Tell us in the comments on the video!
