Silicone vs Paper cupcake liners

I recently got a set of reusable silicone cupcake liners for a amazon review (already did that review) but I wanted to share the results with you on here with pictures.  For the trial batch of cupcakes I made pumpkin chocolate chip muffins.  I used 3 different ways of muffins: paper liners, silicone liners, and some straight in my silicone muffin mold. Here’s the results-

As you can see from the picture above, the muffin stuck to the paper liner 🙁  Such a waste of deliciousness!  The silicone liner however had much less waste- plus what small part that was left inside came out easily.  The silicone mold probably did the best of the 3.

The neat thing about the silicone liners was that you didn’t need a muffin/cupcake pan to put them in! They are firm enough that they hold their shape with the dough inside, but soft enough you can turn them inside out to clean or push the muffin/cupcake out.

Which I just realized, if you were living in a small apartment and did your baking from a toaster oven (or camping etc) these silicone liners would be perfect! Because you could make a couple and not need a muffin pan (that wouldn’t fit in a toaster oven anyway).

If you want the pumpkin muffin recipe it’s here- it’s the same as the cookie recipe- just put it into muffin pan instead! -it’s the best!
